The earthquake in japan occurred when the pacific plate thrusted under the north american plate.Japan is on the wet tip of the North american plate. The thrust fault which is a violent movement of the Pacific plate compressing under the North american plate forcing it upward.This caused displacement of a lot of ocean water which caused the tsunami. The energy came out of the epicenter and the waves got more severe as they neared land because of the more shallow water. This is how the devastating disaster struck. The death toll officially crossed 10,000 and more than 17,000 are missing. 300,000 are in temporary shelters.The recover is on its way with all the help from the donations and organizations. Im working their with doctors without borders to try and help as many people as I can in a week. Well i got to get back to work but until next time.
