Cascades/Mount Rainier

http://images.yourdictionary.com/images/definitions/lg/cascade-range.jpg

Hey guys!

Look at this picture.... Beautiful right?

Unfortunately thats not what Mount Rainier looks like at the moment. After the eruption of the tallest mountain in the cascades panic has hit every where. Mount rainier is

14,410 feet tall! This eruption was the first volcanic activity for the mountain for about 1,000 years. This area is on a

convergent boundary. That means that the tectonic plates are moving towards one another. The collision that occurs can prod

uce earthquakes and volcanic activity.

This is picture shows how convergent boundaries work:

This eruption has caused floods, landslides, pyroclastic flows, lava flows and more. These hazards have destroyed the air but also effected the water quality and caused many health risk, but many charity organizations have put time and effort into helping the cities survive this massive eruption.

See you next time and remember to live love and help :)

  5. Oh, dear, I am not looking forward to an eruption so close to my home! This is a good warning to evacuate the surrounding area, I would suggest people take this seriously.
